Using a Dry-Powder Twist Inhaler

Step-by-Step

  1. Hands scrubbing with soap under faucet with running water.

    Wash your hands.

  2. Hand holding bottom of inhaler, with expiration date on cap of inhaler.

    Check the inhaler expiration date.

    Check the dose counter.

  4. One hand holding bottom of inhaler with other hand twisting cap counter-clockwise to load medicine.

    Twist the cap of the inhaler to load a dose.

    Remove the cap.

    Don’t shake the inhaler.

    Hold the inhaler upright.

    Sit or stand up straight.

    Before putting the inhaler in your mouth, breathe in.

    Breathe out.

    Place the top of the inhaler between your lips and take a quick breath in.

    Hold your breath for 10 seconds.

    Remove the inhaler from your lips and slowly breathe out.

    Place the cap on.

    Twist the cap closed.

    Rinse your mouth out.

    Spit.
